These are 6 videos, some in Spanish and some in English, that describe different elements related with the Days of the Dead. They can be used with children of different ages.

Estos son 6 videos, algunos en español y otros en inglés que describen diferentes elementos relacionados con los Días de los Muertos. Ellos pueden ser usados con niños de diferentes edades.

1. Dia De Los Muertos

Three minutes animated video. It presents the story of a girl that visited the land of the dead y how she learned there the true meaning of the Days of the Dead. The video can be seen by children of different ages and cultures, as it doesn´t include words, but only images and music.

Video animado de tres minutos. Es la historia de una niña que visita la tierra de los muertos y aprende el verdadero significado de este día. El video puede ser usado con niños de diferentes edades y de diferentes culturas, ya que no incluye palabras, solo imágenes y música.

2. Lego Dia de Los Muertos

Animated video based in legos, ideal for preschool children. The video explains some of the elements of the celebration of the Days of the Dead.

Video animado a base de legos, ideales para niños prescolares. A través del video se pueden explicar algunos elementos que incluyen la celebración del “Día de los Muertos”.

3. Dia de Los Muertos: A Brief Overview

Five minutes video in English that explains the historic origin and evolution of the Deays of the Dead. The video presents pictures of historical places and real celebrations in Mexico.

Video de 5 minutos en inglés que explica la parte histórica de la celebración de los Días de los Muertos. El video presenta fotos de lugares históricos y de celebraciones reales en México.

4. Significado de los elementos que componen un altar de muertos

Two minutes video in Spanish that explains elements of the design of the ofrendas for the dead and its relationship with the four elements: air, earth, fire, and wáter.

Video de 2 minutos en español que explica elementos del diseño de ofrendas a los difuntos en el Día de los Muertos y su relación con los cuatro elementos: aire, tierra, fuego y agua.

5. El origen del Dia de Muertos

One minute video in Spanish that describes the origin of the celebration of the Days of the Dead as a result of cultural mixing from Meso American and European cultures during the Spanish colonization.

Video en español de 1 minutos que describe el comienzo de la tradición de los Días de los Muertos como resultado de la mezcla de las culturas mesoamericana y europea en tiempos de la colonización española.

6. Day of the Dead (It’s NOT “Mexican Halloween”)

Four minutes video in English title “Foamy the Squirrel” that shows through the dialogue between characters elements related with the Days of the Dead celebration and its importance as a cultural dialogue.
