Mission trips and pilgrimages both involve going to particular places to live into one’s faith. They can take place locally or involve travel to a more distant destination.

Mission trips are usually focused on building relationships with people in a particular place and serving and supporting communities there. Pilgrimages are usually focused on personal or communal growth through learning and spiritual practices in tandem with journeying.
