LGBTQIA+ AFFIRMING FORMATION

LGBTQIA+ AFFIRMING FORMATION

LGBTQIA+ refers to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, aromantic, and agender identities and experiences plus many more identities and experiences of gender and sexual orientation that differ from cisgender (a term for gender correlating with the sex assigned at birth) and heterosexual identities. Such identities and experiences include nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, pansexual, and omnisexual.

LGBTQIA+ affirming formation involves learning and growing in faith in ways that affirm the goodness of LGBTQIA+ gender identities and sexual orientations.
